Here's an epidemic that is widespread found from males. Missing. If a female misses.. my mind would be blown.
Missing is a serious and common offense for the male species. If it is such a serious thing, then why does it not stop? Here's are some of my thoughts.
COUNTER-MEASURES?
I) Technique
Females can sit, which eliminates the margin of error that is when releasing from a distance. Males typically stand and they can sit if they really wanted to sit. But it would take too much work to sit. The mastering of good technique may come with errors in the beginning but overtime, you start to get better.
II) Experience
With age comes wisdom. That is very true, in bathroom sense. You learn how to aim and that you need to clean up after your own mess. You also learn techniques for increased accuracy and to decrease the chances of that dreaded after-drip.
WHY COUNTER-MEASURES DO NOT WORK?
High W/B Ratio
Here's the main reason for missing, even if you have great technique and experience. It is the ratio of the amount of water to the surface area of bowl. What I mean is if the water level is too high and covers most of the surface area of the bowl, it would cause a lot of noise upon release. I don't like noise especially while in a public setting, so I typically aim around the edge. Margin of error increases dramatically. Even with well-practiced technique and years of experience, a simple motion can cause the widespread offense. This can be eliminated by having the destination closer to the departure zone. Have you ever wondered why the lines are shorter in the guys bathroom after watching a movie? Yeah, urinals to the rescue! It there were all toilet bowls, it would take foreverrrrrr.
SOLUTION?
Lower the W/B ratio or put in every bathroom, in both private and public, urinals. Males won't miss (as much) and females won't have to worry about splash damage. It's a win-win for both genders.
