I'm writing a paper on the parents' role on a child's life, and it is seen in the Puritan lifestyle to stem out of a sense of duty. But as time moves on, the role of the parents shifts to be more of a guide than to have strict control over a child's will versus their what their parents believe to be their calling from God.
And.. now back to working on the paper. =o
