Inferno (not the disco).

There is just something that is captivating about the thought of fire. It is both used for destruction and creation at the same time. It is attempted to be controlled and to be used for good of course, yet houses burn down and even people die from fires. Some people are even horribly scarred.

Campfires are great. They bring people together (maybe not intentionally) but it does get a group of people together. Huddled around whether for the warmth or heating food, there is a power to it. Maybe it is like the core of the earth, in that the source of heat is the source of energy, much like how the planets are centered around the Sun. Even the heat of passion is a sense of unity of two people.

The story of Prometheus always made me wonder what was on his mind. Maybe he felt that fire was not only a thing for the greek gods. But would it be worth the pain of getting your liver eaten out every day?

It needs to be constantly fueled to stay alive and growing, yet if it grows without consideration of its surroundings, it could be dangerous. There are low times, especially if the fire is not tended to. But if there is still one coal left, it can still come back despite how difficult it may be. And even if it has not be started, sparks can start one.

If life is centered around the Sun, then who am I?
